No Ibo in Rivers state

Yoruba man, if this is what helps you sleep well at night then carry on believing it!

Hope by now naive Igbo know EXACTLY where the drive for this Igbo denial and attempts to limit Igbo territory is coming from! Keep on thinking you're safe and can thrive sharing the same country with vipers who despise you and see sabotaging all your interests as their reason for living and wanting 'one Nigeria'! You think it's for nothing that they're terrified at the prospects of seeing a Igbo become president of Nigeria, and therefore have ACTIVELY worked towards ensuring this doesn't ever happen!?

Lol .. who's this ignoramus? Have you ever even been to Rivers state before in your life? There are the Etche, Ekpeye, Ogba and Ndoni people who are Igbo.

Even some parts of Ikwere are Igbo, despite what amaechi says here, I have met a lot of Ikwere people here in Lagos who claim to be Igbo.
Go and sit down kid.
Etche are Igbo The others are not

They do not become Igbo because you want them to be

They simply ARE NOT Igbo

All this denying being Igbo in the so called south-south, especially present Rivers and Delta states, started immediately after the counter-coup of 1966 and is driven by the same evil hegemonic alliance that led the uncivil war and fooled ethnicities and groups into ing them in the effort to sustain 'one Nigeria'! Let anyone reading this post provide any pre-66 document showing any of the present Igbo-denying groups declaring their non-Igboness! At what point did the prefix of umu change to rumu in Rivers state?

Will it be safe to say that all those group you mentioned are Ikwerre people? If they have a lot in common with the Ikwerre people then they are Ikwerres.

That is why all those many people are grouped as Igbos. It's nothing unusual. In the Yoruba Nation, there are Oyo's, Ijebu's, Egba's, Ekitis and many others. If an Ijebu man speaks his dialect of Yoruba, an Oyo man will be struggle to follow. If an Ondo man speaks his brand of Yoruba, the Ekiti man will have to listen carefully or he will be lost. But they are all called Yorubas because they are connected linguistically, culturally and traditionally. It is no different with Igbos. Ikwerre are free to claim whatever identity they wish, but beyond claiming, they have never managed to point at one single thing that differentiates them with those they call Igbo

If you understand Ikwerre why can't see yourself as Ikwerre?
Meanwhile which Ikwerre dialect do you understand?
Ikwerres have over 12 dialects. Which one do you understand?

There over 20 different dialects spoken here in Enugu State. If someone from Imo State came here, he will understand most of them with carefully listening, but will not know the difference. Only someone like me who grew in Enugu State will know the difference between Nsukka, Amaechi, Nike, Owa, Eziagu dialects

But they are all Igbo people. Nothing stops any of them from claiming to be some 'distinct' ethnic group, but that will be laughable because there is no difference with them and others except small difference dialectical pronunciation

Ikwerre is not a dialect of Igbo

Ikwerre have more things in common with all their neighbours. not just Igbos

Having things in common with you does not make me you
The fundamental thing that differentiates them which you keep waffling about is THEY DO NOT SPEAK IGBO LANGUAGE

THEY EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN BIBLE

The way they dance is very different and more similar to their riverine neighbours

The Ikwerre have NO PROBLEM WITH KINGS

Igbos claimthey have no Kings
Ikwerre claim Edo ancestry

You see and hear all this and continue parroting they have never managed to point to one single thing

They have pointed to dozens but you are in denial

Their language is not 70% Igbo That is not true

Ikwerre is a distinct language

Your logic about Benin is upside down

Ikwerre people do not identify as Igbos
They NEVER did
They used to sell Igbos whom they call Isuoma as slaves

There are many languages that are close or similar that does not make them dialects
Good examples are French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. They belong to the family of languages called the Romance family

Spanish people cannot say Portuguese people are Spanish because they bear names like Roberto, Eduardo, Maria, Anna, Ronaldo or Antonio
They are all One people bro, just subdivided into their ethnic nationality in order to build peace and collective strength. That's the exact reason why someone from Italy can migrate to Spain in search of greener pastures with no visa, just ID card confirming your nationality. Look, igbo, yoruba & hausa are what the British used to identify and divide us, before they came can you point to any historical data that showed the people living in those areas called themselves igbos/yoruba/hausa? What is even the meaning of that, do you have a translation for the word yoruba Guy i am a pan-africanist. But I am different from zik because we must first evolve ethnically before collectively. We mist first put our nationalism before anything like religion etc. It's from there that we form a strong united Africa & that's exactly what they european did. Divided themselves into smaller viable states they came together with an agreement to foster unity and development. Do you Know that the population of Croatia is just 5 million? That's means the egba people can actually have their own country? Everyone can exist on their own Ikwerre, etc but you do not have any right to change their ancestry.

It is not an argument to just make an assertion because you like the idea and hope that makes it true

There is a classification of Igboid Languages Not dialects but Languages

Igbo which has several dialects just happens to have the largest number of speakers and that is the origin of the term Igboid

Now Ikwerre is another language in the family it has dialects in its own right but the PEOPLE do not Identify as Igbo

The Ezza people of Ebonyi have their own language NOT DALECT but language
They identify as Igbo

A banana is NOT a type of plantain
A plantain is NOT a type of banana

Plantain cannon say to Banana you are a small plantain

Now there is presumed Evidence that the Igboid languages and Languages like Edo Yoruba had some connection and then branched off about 8000 years ago but also evidence that There were people in Places like Okigwe for example long before There was an Igbo language. What did those people speak?
We have seen Hausa language wipe out smaller languages so it is nothing that is new

The simple reality is a language can take over an entire space for one reason or another as we see with Arabic in North Africa. That does not make them Arabs

So this appeal to language as evidence of anything is ignorance

It is just evidence of being in the same neighbourhood

Let anyone reading this post provide any pre-66 document showing any of the present Igbo-denying groups declaring their non-Igboness! At what point did the prefix of umu change to rumu in Rivers state?

That is untrue
The Ikwerre sent a delegation to the Willinks Commission in 1957 during the period of independence negotiations. They had already started expresing a clear distinct identity and fear of domination long before 1966

The Ikwerre formed Ogbakor Ikwerre around 1963 long before 1966
and definitely before Ohanaeze was formed

Your claim is dismissed as untrue and misleading

The Prefix of Rumu existed before independence but was obliterated by the alleged Igbo domination

Now is it the Igbo position that Ik
werre people just concocted RUMU from nowhere or that that has handed to them by Fulanis? How plausible is that? And TODAY NOT ONE Ikwerre person has ever come out to say NO THIS RUMU THING HAS NO BASIS?

Not one Ikwerre person even among those claiming to be Igbo has EVER challenged or written against this RUMUIZATION. NOT ONE
You need to slow down and engage your brains a little

Is that really believable. That an entire group of people would change the names of most of their towns for a lie and NOT ONE person speaks up against it

Igbos, have you seen how the others like it when igbos deny their identity, the enemies love it. Now, what oga amaechi said was that he had to forefront his igboness, to kinda let others know that the igbos are not divided, and that if one igbo clan is in trouble, all igbos are in trouble. If one igbo clan is successful, every one will and spread the progress.

Just look at how excited these igbo haters get whrn they think or see any form of igbo division. even though, amaechi didn't say what they're thinking. This news go charge all their sexual genitals, and if you mark today and 9 months later, they will experience new born babies, all because of this kind of news.

Igbos, in summary, these people live to make sure the igbos are caged slaves and are systematically eliminated, and also economically strangulated. So, can you imagine their anger, to know that the people they have tried to, and constantly try to eliminate, oppress, and suppress, are the majority tribe, the most thriving, the vast populace, etc.
