Using Mathematics, a young Nigerian woman calculated the time it would take Tinubu to complete the coastal highway, based on the current pace of 30 kilometers in every 2 years. The result show it will take Tinubu 50 years to complete the coastal highway and Tinubu himself will be 121 Years old.

They will attack the Op
I never knew Tinubu after all the hype is just a desperate 4%er
Just imagine it was an OBJ or Jonathan commissioning a disted, corner corner 4% project. The kind of bitterness and vile that will be ripping from their orifical space about how Nigerian leaders are evil would have been enough to cure diabetes

They have completed the road. The idea was just the one that covers SW president business interests and for SW region

The bush they are clearing in calabar axis will soon be abandoned .That side is just politics for 2027.Why didn't they start the road from Calabar axis which has less destruction of properties and compasations. They think SS people are not wise

Go and ask for refunds from your teachers

The over 600km that are yet to be started, the road clearance already started which will save time when they are ready for construction

The math was based on proven official completion rate and not propaganda

That first 30km is a challenging section cutting through some built up areas in Lagos. It was inevitable that that section will take longer.

The next section to Ondo State will be easier and I expect they'll do up to another 100km, and go past Ondo State within the next 2 years.

construction has started from the Calabar end too.

I think this project has a good chance of being completed within the original 7 year time frame. Even if it takes 10 years, it will not be the end of the world.

Most big and complex projects around the world are often delivered later than expected, except your name is China.

To start with, the funds to complete the 30km wasn't even fully available as at the time of making the proposal.

The 30km would have been completed within a year if there was enough funding

Secondly, building a coastal highway would require clearing of the road, demolishing of buildings, relocating of people and compensation. All those must be fully settle before the full projects can be executed.

The 30km completion would attract investors or allow Nigeria to borrow money for the remaining KM

When you consider the number of bridges that have to be built across many tributaries and waterways, it's safe to say that it will take decades and a miracle to complete this road

I strongly believe they don't have any intention to complete the road notwithstanding the entire coastal road project was nothing more than a misplaced priority and conduit for embezzlement

This project is perfect example of someone burning his house because he saw a rat. Why embarking on a project of this magnitude at this point in time that Nigeria doesn't have the financial resources. Someone should tell me the reason why, if not to siphon the money that should be used in more important projects. Which kind country be this for God's sake?.

It’s not about negativity, we’re just being realistic. We’ve seen the same recycled promises and empty slogans for decades.
If we don’t speak the truth and hold leaders able, who will?
Pretending everything is fine won’t move Nigeria forward. It’s time we face reality and demand better.
That’s not hate ,it’s patriotism with sense.

It’s a massive and ambitious project and the funds needed for it must be available beforehand. I expected several construction companies to be involved to fast track its completion in record time. At this pace, give or take, the coastal highway project may take up to 30 years to complete, all things been equal.

if the Lagos section is hard, what about the Nigeria delta with a more rugged and daunting terrain needing sandfiiling, extensive earth works, pilling and bridges?? 😂😂😂

I don't like the idea of blaming funds for the slow pace of the work. When Tinubu embarked on this project, many people raised the issue of funding but people like you say they were enemies of Nigeria and that Tinubu is a wizard when it comes to making money appear.

Come to think of it, where were you guys expecting Nigeria to raise 10trn from to spend on just a single project? Don't you people understand how terribly poor this country is or you still have the mindset ed on to us by our parents?

People like you need to understand that not everyone of us who asks genuine questions hate Tinubu or Nigeria. We are just concerned having seen how much white elephant projects that are scattered around Nigeria leaving fortunes to waste

Brilliant.

The young mathematician made some fundamental assumptions. That the 15km/year would persist over the next 50 years, and that road construction would not be activated simultaneously over 48 areas which can reduce the construction to one year. The question would be if the company has the capacity.

The assumption is also that geological conditions would be the same over other areas apart from Lagos. I am only pointing out the flaws in the premises of the calculation.

I like Tinubu for one thing. He is ruthlessly ambitious. When FG was pumping funds in reclaiming coastal lands in Victoria Island that erosion swept away, Tinubu embarked on a project to prevent coastal flooding. Tinubu also started Eko Atlantic City where the US plans to build a structure for their embassy. Lekki Free Trade Zone was Tinubu's idea. That is where Dangote built his refinery. When Tinubu started LAMATA in 2002, it took another 7 years for the results to be seen and more than 20 years for Lagos to have a light rail. If the road construction would take 50 years, imagine the impact of 50% completion in 25 years. If Obasanjo had started it in 1999, more than 50% would have been completed by now using the mathematician's stabdard.

We thank those who criticize constructively to put government on her toes but it is not possible to finish a project of this magnitude at a rate of 6 months. There'd be more challenges because people will complain about ancestral lands and environmental impact assessment by Arise News.

In closing, let us remind ourselves of those who opposed the coastal road:

1. Atiku Abubakar
2. Comrade Peter Obi
3. Arise News
4. Rufai Oseni
5. Obidient Group
6. One dude who owned Landmark and allocated public land to himself and lied to have lost hundreds of millions of dollars investment due to the swimming pool demolished. He had claimed within a 250 m from the coast which belonged to the public held by the government.

While others have kept quiet seeing the folly in their opposition, Rufai Oseni is still spreading hatred against the road.

Whoever doesn't like the road can do well not to use it.

Nigeria is rising.

Have faith and ignore the prophets of anarchy.

The truth that it will take 50 years to complete the road? Is that what you call the truth.

Opposition doesn't mean everything must be condemned just because your candidate lost in an election.

Appreciate good things about the government when you see one and on this coastal high way Tinubu got it right

Where did we eventually get the money for the 30km from?

The coastal highway project is not a paper project but already started. Egypt new city in the desert is not even up to 40% completed yet the Egypt have exhausted the loan options self for now. Are you saying they too don't have any good intentions about the project?

What is my business with what is happening in Egypt? Do I live there or something? Why do you people love to deflect and use the negative things happening elsewhere to conclude that Nigeria is ok.

That being said, if this pace is what the funds procurement can obtain, that means it will be completed in thirty years or am I missing something?

In case you don't know about economics, there's something called scale of preference. With the way Nigeria is now, where do you scale a project like this compared to our immediate problems?

If government has invested massively in agriculture and given loans to states with clear mandate on spending it on power with strict observation to avoid pilfering, don't you think tinubu would have been much more celebrated and this food driven inflation kept at bay while the power solutions will kickstart small businesses.
