I know the decision rest on the player. If we were keen, we'd have also offered to pay the release clause. At least 30m is not in anyway close to the amount we are rumored to be paying for Cunha which means that if he was a priority g, we'd have made the move since.

Delap's people were not willing to enter detailed talks with any club until the Champion's League picture was clear. What is the point of triggering the release clause of a player that does not want to come to your club?

That is why immediately Chelsea made the Champion's League, and we didn't, his people spread the news that he was only interested in Chelsea.

See me see question. Liverpool are close to g Wirtz, Man City are pushing for Reijnders, deals are happening but when it comes to Man Utd, you begin to see fans ask this silly question...
Provide names like say he go give you funds to execute your list

I never said he was all that. Just correcting this revisionism that we were not interested in him. Nobody triggered his release clause not even the Chelsea that he is headed to now. It was because he himself put a hold to any talks, not because nobody was interested.

When we had possibility of Champions League football that 100m seemed more attractive. Now that there is no European football it will be even more difficult to attract good players.

The crucial question should not be whether 100m for Bruno is a good deal, because it is. The crucial question is will the club use the Bruno money wisely, cos if we sell Bruno and buy Mount and VDB type flops we are finished.
True at the bolded, but looking at the last summer transfer window, the board might actually get some good CMs in July..

You are getting it wrong. Adisa made reference to Delap as if to say we could not sign one of our targets or rather that he rejected us which is why I responded that if it was a problem of money then we wouldn't be after Cunha who cost twice Delap's fee and if it was a case of we not being able to attract players, then Cunha is obviously the better player yet it is close to ing us.

The point is that if we wanted Delap, we'd have activated the release clause; his deciding to come or not is the issue.

Hopefully, other top clubs wouldnt be interested in our targets because it seems in scenarios like that, it would be more difficult for the club.

The purported "rejection" by an Ipswich town relegate suggests that the issue is even worse than initially projected.

Thats the point here...

But the evidence before us suggests that he chose Chelsea over us because of CL footie na.

You are making it seem like it's a story i made up myself...lol

Maybe if you have some contrary articles from credible sites, it would help.

Chelsea wanted him but did not activate his release clause either at that time. This is because clubs were waiting for him to make his decision on which club he wanted to . Now he has decided on Chelsea they can approach his club to activate the release clause. Now that he has decided against us, we are not approaching his club to activate his release clause.

The reason neither Chelsea nor Man Utd activated his release clause since was because both clubs were waiting for him to make his decision on who he wanted to . It was not because the clubs did not want him. Nobody is wasting time and effort activating the release clause of a player that does not want to them.

It is not only about money. Nobody is saying we can't afford him. There is a price to pay for not making the Champion's League. It will be a bit more difficult to convince some players to us. Some other players would not mind especially if they get bloated salaries.

Which player PSG sign to replace Neymar, Messi and Mbappe? You don't need superstars to compete, just good players who are ready to die for the shirt.

And nobody is saying Delap is this generational world class talent, but to now pretend we were not after him is quite disingenuous.

Meanwhile see as PSG pieces that Inter bus parking defense. You park bus and you still concede empty net tap in. grin

I can't trust them. These people wasted 50m on Ugarte with all his obvious flaws. Dorgu is also still suspect.

Technical players who can do the basics will definitely function well together.

And this people have lost Messi, Mbappe and Neymar within the last two years and yet they are about to win treble with Dembele and Hakimi.

And yet our fanbase will keep acting like the world will end if we sell certain players. As long as there is a clear path forward, let the club sell whoever needs selling abeg. There is no player in this team that is that important.

Abeg abeg, no one is against selling Bruno here. What everyone is wary of is reinvesting the funds from his sale appropriately so it won't be wasted.

You people just like to take up positions in your head and start pushing unnecessary agenda with it. The unanimous sentiment on this board is cashing on on Bruno.
