The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has declared that he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s President, but rather desperate to see the country work effectively for the benefit of its citizens, ABN TV reports.

Obi made this known on Saturday during a special Anniversary Sabbath service held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Umuahia, Abia State, to commemorate two years of Governor Alex Otti's istration.

The former Anambra State Governor emphasized the challenges of leading a country like Nigeria, especially for leaders committed to doing what is right. He called on the people of Abia to pray for Governor Otti and of his cabinet, stressing the importance of divine guidance in leadership.

“It is difficult to govern Nigeria or any of its states, especially when you are determined to do the right thing,” Obi stated. “When I say to people I am not desperate to be President, I am desperate to see Nigeria work.”

He urged Nigerians to consistently pray for their leaders, encouraging those in positions of authority to use public funds judiciously and for the collective good.

Obi commended Governor Otti for what he described as “two years with a difference,” noting that real change in governance does not necessarily require long tenures.

“People always say they need eight years, ten years, or even twenty years to make an impact. But I have always said that one day can make a difference. What is happening in Abia today, we want to see it happen everywhere in Nigeria,” he remarked.

In his response, Governor Alex Otti attributed the progress made by his istration in the past two years to divine guidance and strength from God. He expressed gratitude to Peter Obi for his consistent , and also appreciated the Abia State legislature, judiciary, and of the Church for their prayers and encouragement.

Obi needs to understand that to put Nigeria on the track of 'working', the present disaster at the centre must be voted out.

So, if Obi truly has the interests of Nigerians at heart, he needs to hands with Atiku and others in the opposition so as to present a formidable force to remove bat.

Anything less will be an exercise in futility.

Yes!

His Excellency, Dr. Peter Gregory Obi isn't a Desperado.
He's the only politician who can change this country, at least to a significant extent.

my advice is that South East states one after the other make Obi their governor, except Anambra since he can't govern there again. It will be nice to replicate the wonderful work he did while governor of Anambra in these states, since the rest of Nigerians are not interested. They should enjoy the excellent leadership and Development he has to offer.

The constitution is not against this type of scenario.

That's

I've noticed Nigerians detest anyone they see as having a higher moral com than them. Thus when a man refuses to collect bribe in an office he is hated. When he reports wrongs he is detested. When he opts for good they treat him like shit. When he requests ability, wahala. When he stands against cheating another person he is seen as one not sharp. No, we don't crave good leaders. We rever bad ones.

You sound disoriented. What is really wrong with you? What is wrong in what he said? Is he the most desperate person honing in for that position you know? A man did unthinkable things to get there and is doing more to remain there, yet you are blind to that.

Okay. That’s why you travel all round the world demarketing your region because you cannot demarket Nigeria with your bitterness.

You want Nigeria to work, yet you went from Church to Church saying that Christians should take back their country and went as far as calling your YES DADDY Bishop to help you start religious war.

You will never ever rule Nigeria

Nigeria cannot with your attitude of demarketing, discrediting and disparaging the government you were a part of unless you built airports, seaports, schools and hospitals when you were in government.
Your works as governor is supposed to be speaking for you and not your mouth, till today Ambode’s works in Lagos is speaking for him and that’s why even after his removal he hasnt come online to be seeking vvalidation
