Congrats to him. That's a smart one. You won't know how much you're missing until you travel out of Nigeria. But people travel for different reasons and only the smart one gets it right.

Guy, you have everything to yourself, expect your freedom but I can understand. Work for a few years, look for great opportunities and return home as we did and you'll have unlimited access to your freedom. it's only when you're free that you can actually plan well and do more? I'm a living witness. I'm an advocate of good governance and ja-pada. There's no place like Nigeria. That money you paid in getting your mortgage is good but you're not gonna pay up in near future and you'd get tied down alongside your credit. I'd always prefer you guys say, you got a mortgage, instead of saying you bought a home. Any home you get here is yours for life, and outrightly. That's the difference.

100k usd yearly earnings isn't bad for your status but how much of this money actually lands in your pocket? How long can you save those remnant, that would earn you the kind of financial freedom you really need? But if you can invest in the opportunity you brought back home, you could earn that 100k in a month or less and all would be yours, after tax. Good luck

There is this. Then there is also this below:
I still prefer here where you are sure of no tribalism . I was sent packing from my job because of two thing in Nigeria in the same 2020 .
First , the governor of that State at the time , his wife told my immediate boss to relieve me off my job because I have worked with a former governor that they were both at loggerheads
Secondly , my immediate boss who would have helped me again to get a job in that state through the SSG at the time told me the governor has authorized all non indigene of that state no be allowed to work ( not knowing it was her my immediate boss who orchestrated that move so she can accommodate her church after I left the job, who are not even from Edo state.
Since then I have been out of job . Until a God sent woman ( my wife ) came through for me .

If you are relocating abroad for a new experience, to work with different cultures and gain dual citizenship, then that makes sense...!

But, if you are leaving a good job with great living standards here to go abroad believing you will earn far more there, then you are just too dull and unserious about your life.

...And if you are faring well abroad yet don't have a return plan or aren't pushing funds back to Nigeria to set up, I really have no words for you.

In all, let's quit this Japa and Anti-Japa comparisons or threads...!

They are becoming more and more idiotic everyday.

For the love of me, I don't see why relocating from your home land to a foreign land a success.

We are screwed up mentally as people, thanks to useless African leaders.

Imagine people making relocation to foreign land a prayer point, an ambition or dream... That's now fxxkedup we are as people.
live and die in Nigeria. Stop! You got to see the world and itโ€™s just one life. It worth doing. No regrets from me

If he was earning 1.6 milli in 2022 he'll probably be earning 2.5milli. For me, I won't go to any European country where I'll be treated as second to the animals... He's a rich dude here in Nigeria. I got zero motivation from this

Good point...!

But, relocation didn't start today, in fact, it has been happening long before you were born.

It's just human nature to move around the world, settle in other places and experience life beyond your comfort zone.

Today's situation is sadly borne out of the messed up system of leadership where the nation seems to be dying daily... So, relocating is now a survival move.

Achieve your goals and keep quiet.

This way you make the host country think everyone wants to migrate. Next thing they block that means

It is mostly for the unborn generation. the reason for moving abroad is not to become wealthy; some of us just want a simple life, which 9ja can not provide.

How do you think you are being treated in Nigeria, where cows hold more value than human lives?
