What the enemy is planning has failed. They wanted Starlink to exit Naija so they can continue milking us with their audio data

What does Starlink mini do?

it's a smaller, self-contained version of the dishy+router that's meant to be for on-the-go type shii

check the verge's review of it, they even use it in a backpack: https://www.theverge.com/24275688/starlink-mini-review-battery-powered-backpack-comparison

Roam is not available in Nigeria for now. Go to residential plan, input an available address, you will given a choice between Standard and Mini. Mini costs 318k

Me too, no stress, they should have just kept that motorized technology and upgrade only the V2 Router to WiFi 6

I was told that I have to stay on the enterprise plan for 3 months before I can migrate to residential plan... How true is this information??

The dish is bigger, has no automatic motor to position it.... Despite all of this gets same data as the old one. Doesn't look like an upgrade apart from the fact that it now comes with Ethernet ports
I thought the sired and performance is different and better than gen 2, and I was planning an hardware upgrade from my gen 2 to gen 3, abeg make I de enjoy my gen 2 de go peacefully

Port-Harcourt and Benin City now freed up for new activations on Residential Plan, thanks to the new ground station going live at Okun Aja, Nigeria.

20 antennas installed, room for 36 (assuming regular spacing). Adjacent to new Medallion Data Center construction (large building on the right). Likely live, based on recent increased capacity at IXP (200G -> 600G).
Abeg make them free Abuja too na, I want to make new order within Abuja

Interesting
No mind am. You will still need to position it right only that you'll do it manually using the app helping you to move left and right, something that was automatic in the former version. It's a downgrade.

Just that gen 3 will be the standard and if you remain with gen 2 you won't be able to get it's part after few years. Everyone will eventually be forced to switch

Unreliable internet has always been an issue for me in Lagos. The best Internet Service Providers use Fibre Optics but have very limited coverage areas. So when I heard Starlink would be rolling out their Low Orbit internet service in Africa, It Immediately piqued my Interest.

I made a preorder for the service in May of 2021 with a refundable deposit of $99. I did this due to the projected rollout of the service by the end of 2021. I did not get any update from Starlink until early december of 2022. I was told to pay up a balance of $501 so my exquipment would be shipped.

8 days after making full payment, my Starlink Equipment was delivered to me by DHL. It is a plug and play device that is easy to install by following very simple steps on the manual. I mounted the dish on my compound, at a postion with good sky visibility and the device connected to an available Satellite within a few minutes.

My Internet experience is now the best I have ever had it, here in Nigeria.

Total cost of Equipment $600
Monthly Subscription for Unlimited Internet $43

Because it is the kit that could adjust itself automatically unlike gen 3 and mini which can't

So someone will pay 50k extra because of less than 1 minute of manually adjusting gen3 dish using the app?

Lol

Not everyone installs it by themselves, and how can an average adjust it once installed on a roof.

To some it is worth it to others itsnt

Gen 3 is very easy to install cus it has wider field of view and than the Gen 2 less obstruction problem just like the mini that can even connect to Satellite even inside a car with small Sun roof or dashboard

Never knew MTN and Airtel are currently working to partner with Satellite companies like Starlink. Like T-Mobile did with them in the US. I just read this in Nairametrics:
What you should know
The Airtel-SpaceX partnership indicates that mobile network operators are now looking for ways to collaborate with satellite companies, which many have seen as competition, especially in a market like Nigeria, where Starlink is gaining more traction at the expense of the other ISPs, including the MNOs.

Last year, MTN Group also announced that it was in talks with several satellite services providers, including Elon Musk’s Starlink, in its bid to expand its services to unnerved areas across its operating market.
Specifically, the company said there was an ongoing engagement with SpaceX’s Starlink, with enterprise-grade trials underway in Rwanda and Nigeria.
In addition, MTN said multiple initiatives were underway, including direct-to-cell trials with Lynk Global in South Africa and Ghana.
The company said it was also having discussions with providers like AST SpaceMobile for trials in Nigeria and South Sudan. “In parallel, we are advancing discussions with Eutelsat OneWeb for a planned pilot in South Africa.”
