Your nairaland is a circus and a play ground for trolls... And no nairalander has ever told you that nairaland is fine, each time you ask this question, nairalanders always tell you their complaints and would give you valid points on what you should change in here... But as always, you'd ignore their complaints like you're also ignore this one.

1. Your s are useless, they never respond when being mentioned for assistance, they don't respond to the report buttons or their mails... Why do you even have s when the trolls are already the ones moderating this forum?

2. As the owner of this forum, can't you see with your own eyes that it's not fine? Isn't it your duty to check the forum every now and then?

3. How come you were able to create this forum during a time when AI was not a thing, but now you're claiming that you didn't have the powers to do any changes due to lack of AI? Did you create this forum by magic from up above?

You're just filled with baseless excuses.

1. This forum needs a block button instead of s, so that we can be able to block any trolls from threads that we don't want them participating in since your s are useless, biased, and don't know how to do their job.

2. Create an AI app that'll decide which topic is suitable for front page, not these biased trolls who always enable trolls to do as they please in here... They value the opinions of trolls more than those of decent nairalanders.

3. Allegedly there's no longer a deactivation option on this forum, why? Some of us are planning to leave this forum soon and I don't want to leave my nairaland abandoned.

3. There should also be a delete option for nairalanders who want to delete their threads or comments.

We know you're not going to bother making any changes, but hopefully you'll prove me wrong this time around.

Hello Guys,

I'm throwing this question to you because it's very important. Every time I ask, "how is Nairaland?" I'm told that it is fine. If I ask what are the challenges I'm told there are none.

So I need to talk to you guys directly about what you think is going on and what you want us to do. I have not had the confidence to make major changes on Nairaland. I have a little confidence now because of AI.

What are your complaints, your challenges, your issues. What are the things that can drive people away and need to be nipped?

Speak your mind, but don't be rude. Thanks.

Control the use of hate speech, people insult people here so much and is bad.
Ensure people post verified information...

Thank you Seun for this.

I want to say that Nairaland is a lot more than a connecting social media platform now. I believe that this forum can become a tool to fix this country. I therefore suggest the following:

1. Give more space to opinion writers like us to air our views.

2. I noticed you have a rabid fear of the Biafran question. However Biafra is a national question that we can find answers to here. Our blog, textandpublishing.com, has written many articles on the Biafran question but you never put front page.

3. Consider bringing the brightest minds together in this forum for a meeting - a physical one. We can start with a virtual one. They can find their way to and from Lagos, but provide accommodation and feeding. Let these young men and women deliberate on the Nigerian question for two days, and then submit a memorandum to the government, while at the same time proffering some action points.

Nairaland.com is a unifying platform for Nigeria.

You can reach us privately for more ideas.

Well done with what you do.

for me, I hate the process of commenting that takes me elsewhere, why can't I have a quick comment box in the main page

Hi Seun, thanks for this.
Here are a few things I think will make a difference to the platform and some ideas I could lay out to make more money from here to make it sustainable and pay more mods.

1. Down vote and no up vote ( take few bad eggs down or if they receive a certain number of down votes they'll be suspended from that week to post

2. I don't know if it's bbpress nairalnis running on but if it isn't and it's something you can do I'd like we have a dedicated place for news, separate from the forum. ( most or what we get in front page is not news) not like it should be cause it's just a forum to discuss topica but it could be more.

3. Transactions to the tune of 30 million or more go on here weekly and it could be tapped with some few ideas I have ( I could do a proposal for that if you interested)

4. We should have a subscription service of atleast 500 a month or 5k a year to make posts in certain topics or reply on front page and trending topics. creation should cost 1k on its own ( this will help reduce multiple s and trolls )

5.Nairaland is too big to remain this way for years.
There's a lot that can be done to make this Nigerias own largest social media/ website.
Various offshoots can come off Nairaland with the trust and recognition it already has.

6. Please remove that notice on Muslim threads.
This is a forum, where everything is discussed.

If we're to let them keep theirs it will be fair if other threads have their own governing rules from the mods.

7. Be more visible and build a physical community around Nairaland with meetups

8. Obviously we need an app, I think sometime in 2014 I was using the blackberry app of Nairaland. If the challenge is migrating data I belive we have more than capable hands to help with this or for you to consult with. I bet it'll be a good project they will all love to be part of

9. Corpers, Nairaland can cater to some coper needs with few ideas I have. ( Nairaland will not longer just be a forum it'll be more)

10. ( this one here I'll keep to myself first as I'm already working on it for myself

11......
12........

If you are interested in those ideas that could make more money for this platform I'll be glad to talk about it.

So that Islamophobic people like you can be insulting Muslims and making derogatory statements about Islam.

Why must you discuss Islam when you are not a Muslim
Why should Nairaland allow you to be insulting Muslims in the guise if discussion
Why must you make derogatory statements about Islam in the guise of discussion.

Mine is on the religious section. On the Christianity side, everyone is free to say what he or she wants to say without being compelled to denounce their faith but for the Islamic side, we’re compelled to denounce our faith before we comment.

1. Site needs a visual lift. It's been the same for a very long time. Infact, copy a little from the successful platforms like facebook, twitter, reddit etc. but add the 'naija' flavour to it. Note that your front page is the soul of the site. Focus heavily on it.

2. Tell your mods to remain as neutral as possible regarding 'free speech' on this platform. Yes, clamp down on hate speech and trolls, but don't shadow-ban s for voicing out their thoughts here.

3. rs are the driving force for revenue to you and the team, but don't sell your soul for a few million bucks. Let Nairaland speak positively for you in your absence.

Make a new switchable mode with better and much more present UI and functionality. This original UI can remain as lite mode (much like Facebook lite and original Facebook). This will satisfy everyone

You need a better chat box and real time
You need a dislike button
Ability to post videos and bigger photos
A better app
A block button
A timeline feature for your favorite topics and s.

Turn this site to one of the best sites in Africa, it's time

Personally, I feel a portrait of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) should be included on the front page.

Justification for such is that, never a time in history has the country had a leader who s and welcomes social media criticism. Also, being same time the best we had since independence, it will be a great honor to have his portrait on the front page.
Na ya work you dey do.

Stop the swearing before we can comment on Muslims thread or let the Muslims also swear on Christian thread.

That's the start of nairaland discrimination.
That cannot be changed because seun knows.

Oga Seun , that Creed you activated for Muslims in Fridays, activate it for Christians on Sunday too.

Don't be Biased.... Let There Be Equity....
The creed should be removed altogether, I'm sure he has been to Quora countless times, no need for swearing on any religious thread if the adherrents can't endure the heat they should get out of the kitchen.

The mods needs to differentiate between threads that are worth pushing to the FP and threads that dont even pushing anyway.

We know it is the MODs from Biafur0

Seun should do psychiatric and mental evaluation for them. They NEVER got over the loss of Peter Obi, NEVER will.

Imagine a MOD actually pushed "Skull Miner" in a thread and pushed it to the FP.

Seun, you need to find that MOD, flog him publicly before sacking him. Because he means you harm, trust me!

You see how people are trying to put a stop to tribalistoc comments and you’re adding more fire. SEUN, this is what we’re talking about

As someone who has been on Nairaland for 16 years , here are my requests

1. We need a dislike button. It’s long overdue

2. DM option should be embedded directly on the site without the need to do this via exposing my email compulsorily . This is 2025 we really do need this feature on the site

3. Allow direct ing of videos albeit with a size restriction if you’re bothered about storage.

4. Can we have night mode feature please.

5. We need personalized feeds, where I can customize what I want to see

Those are all I can think about for now.

@seun I endorse this, all of them

The tribal hatred that goes on on nairaland is sickening. You need to be strict about hateful posts and comments by tribal bigots.

Establish strong measures to curb tribal and religious intolerance and bigotry here. This forum is supposed to be for Nigerians, something to unite us and not divide. The Yoruba and Igbo fight here is sickening.

Permanently remove people who make this space toxic. Close their s and monitor any other s that may be related to them through their trends in comments.

Establish a KYC procedure to ensure that one person doesn't have more than one . Use Ai to collect data from new registration to avoid multiple s registration.

Remove the limitations in Muslim thread before you comment, or you include it in Christian thread too.

Seun,

(1)-Find a way to curb bigotry/tribalism. The Igbo vs. Yoruba stuff is nauseating.
Same with religious stuff.

(2)-Educate mods to stop pushing useless topics to FP.

(3)-Beggars spam every topic/post. Even sombre ones about tragic incidents. Curb it.
We need something like our good, old TENs back. A dedicated charity section would help.

(4)-NL needs a face-lift, biko.

Small phones cannot access Nairaland anymore, you're denying elderly people access to this platform. You don't have to shut out that demographic because they are equally as important.
