The tribalism and bigotry is on another level

Everything waters down to bigotry here and humanity is lost.

This is the starter pack for Bigotry and hate in Nigeria

The mods that told you everything is going on well here should be queried, this is not how a site should be run

Hello Guys,

I'm throwing this question to you because it's very important. I have lost touch with Nairaland and I don't really know what's going on here. Every time I ask, "how is Nairaland?" I'm told that it is fine. If I ask what are the challenges I'm told there are none.

So I need to talk to you guys directly about what you think is going on and what you want us to do. I have not had the confidence to make major changes on Nairaland. I have a little now. What are your complaints, your challenges, your issues. What are the things that can drive people away?

Speak your mind, but don't be rude. Thanks.
Please I've been reaching out to you and your mods about my interest in sponsoring a thread to the front page and how much that would cost but haven't gotten a response.

Personally, I feel a portrait of His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) should be included in the front page.

Justification for such is that, never a time in history has the country had a leader who s and welcomes social media criticism. Also, being same time the best we had since independence, it will be a great honor to have his portrait on the front page.

Lol comrade I agree to this.

I usually type in bold because I feel the font is to light, so probably something like that and adding far more up too date text options and emoticons.

As for moderation, you need more mods to address the usual suspects who are getting bolder and typing nonsense like "Ogun kee you"...... in short you just need to trust more people who see this space as special as it is still IMO the most diverse and reliable medium for information in Nigeria.

grin NL is very easy to use and full of lots of helpful information. Its a reliable go-to research resource.
I only sometimes wish, NL is more video friendly. As the video button is practically for decoration.

How can we also make money on Nairaland. I can't be sourcing content for your platform while I don't earn anything

Not like you will do anything about our recommendation but let me still drop mine.

Start by changing the skin of the website. Its too boring and has not changed one bit in 21 years!

In addition to the forum here, you can create a space where all can have their profile where they can have more freedom and control of their , who they want to interact with, who can interact with them, and how they would like the interaction to go.

Instant messaging could also be considered as well.

Then, let there be notifications on our mobile phones when we are mentioned in a post on the forum so we can quickly reply.

When you do this, you make the website more useful. The more people can do on it, the longer time they stay on the website, also the longer they stay on the platform, the more value the website has.

Most of the time people tend to be afraid of change,, hence perhaps the reason nairaland still uses the same interface and layout

Don't be afraid of the unknown,, you should upgrade the interface, let it be responsive and navigate able, you already have the community all you need do is make it look more lively and graphics friendly

It won't reduce your community if you decide to make it work like the likes of twitter. You are doing just fine but you are also loosing intelligent people who used to love this space

This space is littered with young minds who doesn't understand that level of intellectuals that used to school each other here,, upgrade and let it graphically interactive

Nairaland has become a beggars platform. While I am aware there are genuine folks in need of help who post here, a good number are frauds who post the same sad tales under different handles across multiple threads for months. There should be a philanthropy section where all such posts should be and an in house mod can vet the veracity of such before allowing such posts go to the front page.

A review period should be adopted before any post or comment at all even gets displayed. I know this is a challenge but it is not something your engineers can't handle. There's AI for that

Functional APP.

Strict on cyber-bullies

Strict on tribalists/ethnic profiling

More enlightening hot topics (skill-wise) as it were back in the days before the sudden tsunami on your Database breach.

NL should start competing with other contemporary SM platforms like Twiter.

Easy to navigate ad space/breakdown of procedure

Let me seize this opportunity to appreciate you for this platform, it has been an awesome platform to me (think am addicted to it). Way back 2010 as a 200L student. It has imparted me beyond tertiary education.
Thanks Seun.

r Focused Improvement for Mobile:

Each page currently displays six ad slots on desktop but only two on mobile. With mobile s now ing for over 85% of traffic, visibility in these two limited slots is crucial.

The existing system, which selects two ads from a pool of six, results in unpredictable placement. Sometimes the 2 slots may even show up empty. To enhance value for rs, I propose introducing an option to secure consistent presence in either of the two mobile slots at a fair .

Overall, your pricing model remains competitive, and the ads are non-intrusive, seamlessly integrated into the experience. The key enhancement I think you can work on is offering greater placement control to rs targeting mobile s.
