Ebubu: Do you see why you are an ebuubuu? And you claim to be educated? It does not take much to reason properly before making such uneducated comments as you made. “…a sitting senator protected from immunity…”. So Senators have immunities too? And your understanding of their immunity includes outside their chambers? Truly you be mumu. Olodo. When I say you be baba alagbo, you can now see the reason. In all the years of our democracy, where did you ever read that Senators have immunity? Now you can see that your Senator’s mouth has landed him in trouble. 2 Likes |

valentineuwakwe: It's not "covering up".. It is " defending ". He's an eye witness, and the closest in between. He's the one standing in for him against any opened allegation that required his presence. Akpabio is matured, and he's handling the case with full maturity, even against his known enemies that are pushing Natasha. |

Ireti Kingibe said it, that she didn't know much about the rule of that floor, they have to put her through and through so that she can get it right. She is still, new to the floor... lols |

patrickcollins: Yes, he's right. Parliamentarians do have some sorts of that, not termed immunity, but parliamentary privilege, even extended to the judiciary, as judiciary privilege. You should imagine, how people that will propose and enact laws that safeguard any of the executive heads wouldn't applied thesame to themselves first? So, it's just a different choice of clause. |

Trustyourself: Blantant lies. Forget Nigeria constitution. Senate standing rules and order is much more stronger than that. Senators are not under the oath to that. They have their rules considered stronger and much enshrined than Nigeria constitution. You can not file a lawsuit against a sitting Senator. |

plouchea24:you mean you don't actually know and you are this bold? Sec 308 of the1999 constitution carter's to only president, vice, governors and their deputies. All other elected officials are without immunity. I hope you have seen the former senate president Ekweremadu chased by effc and law enforcement both home and abroad. When last did you read anything outside Nairaland? |

[/qu I will then recommend section 1 (3) of the same 1999 constitute as amended. On that particular section, you will have an understanding of the supremacy of the Constitution over all other laws of the country including the Senate Standing Rules.
