Funny how our representatives are clamouring for the smallest state in Nigeria to have the highest number of local governments
Nigeria is truly gone with the winds.....

fergie001:

This is a constitutional alteration with special flavour; it's not as rigorous as any other typical alteration of a provision of the constitution. See S9(2) of the constitution.

In essence, all that's needed is age from both houses of the National Assembly, since the Lagos House of Assembly had already created these councils, in accordance with S8(3) of the constitution

LCDA to LGA? The faster, the better oh! Otherwise, e go red!

If this bill is ed without disputes and disagreements; see how other states will scramble to the avalanche of LGAs.
Xannadu: 8:32pm On Mar 26
As usual, the "leaders of tomorrow" are jubilating over the prospects of Lagos having equal or higher number of LGAs than other states instead of deliberating on what difference it makes to the common man how many CDAs or LGAs a state has.

Infact I still discussed this with my colleagues today. Two years ago I was at Ajah under bridge waiting for the heavy rain to stop; mehn the kind of crowd that gathered that day under the bridge and its axis, I was marvelled.
Lagos is just too overcrowded.

Ajah??

Is Ikorodu garage a joke to you?
The crowd there choke.

Iyana Ipaja nko?

Lagos is just too over populated .

The only reason state governments would scramble to create additional councils is because of the prospect of increased federal allocations

But interestingly, more LGAs does not necessarily equal more allocations to the LG councils in that state, per se

This is very commendable and should be ed as quickly as possible.
Lagos being the state with the largest population and the largest economy in Nigeria should have the highest local government areas.

I can see the hands of the President on this bill and that shows that it will in both houses easily.

If other governors do what tinubu did and create 29 lcda I hope he will them?? undecided

LCDAs are in almost every state. So why only Lagos?

Some states deserve special status just like NY and California in the US. You don't expect a state that is the economic power house of a nation to be treated like states bringing nothing to the table. Lagos deserves special federal intervention in many areas.

If you know this based on the godlike nature you assumed yourself, do also add that you can never make it in life. Mind you, you and Obi can go to hell and burn to ashes. Just that I will choose him over most of the politicians in Nigeria.

Successful? Are Igbos the most successful in Nigeria ? Do your research well, it's not by having shops or hawking on the treets but by the owners/ producers of the products you kept in the shops or being hawked .

This is what you get in a failed federalism

What concerns federal government with a stateโ€™s local government area?

Should we start to measure dicks? Na you go run. From entertainment to Tech, from top religious leaders to globally accepted culture. From real commerce not fan yogo wheelbarrow oh to politics. Don't start what you can even start. Stop comparing yourself with People that established the first university, the first TV station in Africa when your ancestors were still running naked in the forest as cannibal. Stop it.

Obasanjo worked against this stuff back then.
Very selfish vindictive man
Mr 3rd term
Mr do or die affair
Mr. Election rigger of the century

There's nothing selfish about what Obasanjo did, I'm a full blood Lagocian, with family house both in Obalende and Tinubu, when Tinubu proposed it then, Lagos wasn't as populated as this, which we don't need, because he wants to use it to compensate his political friends then....

They will have to justify if they had 20million population like Lagos. It is not a wishful thinking.
