Tuwon Shinkafa (Rice swallow) is made from 100% Rice. It is a major swallow in Northern Nigeria. So many eat this as their major swallow at home, on a daily basis. It is also served in special occasions like weddings, naming Ceremony, Birthday parties, special occasions etc.

Tuwo Shinkafa go well with either Egusi soup, bitter leaf, Groundnut Soup, vegetables etc. It doesn't go well with draw Soup (my opinion).

The one I know very well here is maize popularly eaten by Cotonou people. But because it scatters anyhow unless you make it extra soft and eat as fast as possible with your spoon, we device a mean of making it last by adding casava flakes (lafu).

To prepare: boil your rice with enough water till very soft, then mash or blend it smooth. Shape into balls, and it's ready to enjoy. It’s a go-to for both everyday meals and big celebrations. You can’t go wrong with Tuwon Shinkafa!

I once had a neighbor who gave my dog leftover rice (tuwo shinkafa) after she's done selling for the day. God bless her wherever she is.

What are we talking about, soup belongs to south south, followed by south east. Southwest they follow then the North. But wait ooI, I find it very difficult to understand why we all in this world if not for food first and sex second. Others are by the way.
