Hello everyone,

Another Question, please

Has anyone gone through the accredited pathway before?

My research shows that COREN-certified Engineers are accredited under the Washington Accord.

I just want to know if anyone has gone through this route before.

Thank you.

Hello bro,

Did you eventually go through the Washington accord? how did the experience go for you?
Wisdommyth:
Thank you. Both degrees are from the UK actually,
does it affect my skill assessment? I am
assessing through the Washington accord pathway via Engineers Australia. I already have an IELTS.

Good day house. I'm currently on 85 points (Using the PR subclass 189 calculator). I want to use VITASSESS for my assessment as a Biotechnologist. My questions are as follows;

1. For evidence of payment of salary, how many Months of bank statement do I have to submit, and from what duration please?

2. For tax clearance, which is the most acceptable please (Only that issued by the Lagos State Government)?

3. For visa subclass 189, what is the application duration (Visa processing time) after receiving ITA?

Thanks.

Hello bro,

Did you eventually go through the Washington accord? how did the experience go for you?

Yes everything went well. I got a successful assessment as a "Professional Civil Engineer" from Engineers Australia using the Washington Accord route. Initially, after I submitted my assessment, I was told my application will be reversed because my bachelors was only accredited via the Sydney accord and not Washington accord which I used. After some back and forth with them, I was told I have no issues I guess because my masters degree was accredited on the Washington accord pathway. It's best to with Engineers Australia if one is not sure about the pathway for assessment because application may be decided on case by case basis rather than using a general formula.

You can call Engineers Australia or send them an email if you have any questions.

Hello everyone,
I am considering applying for Sub class 189 visa. I am an Electrical Engineering graduate and i kindly request for answers to the following questions, please:
1. Is it advisable for me to go for the Electrical Engineering Technician MSA under TRA.
2. Will my student's copy of transcript be accepted.
3. I scored 8, 8, 8, 7.5 (overall 8.0) in my ielts. how many points will that fetch me?

Thank you

SIncerely, the data keeps changing.
if you have a chance of getting up to 80/85 for 189, you can go for Electrical engineer.
EE has gotten 189 over EET in this financial year.
The rest has been answered

What's the breakdown of the 85 points?
Also how many years of experience do you have and do you have both bachelors and masters? if you have both, which university(ies)?
Biotechnologist occupation is a level 1 occupation.
1. For Vetassess, the last 12 months is fine. For DHA, you will need to provide for the entire period of employment
2. if you worked and lived in Lagos, then it should be from LIRS. Other states in Nigeria have their own respective Internal revenue service.
3. 90% of applications are completed in 4 months as at now. That can reduce or go up as well.

Thank you for your response. I've a BSc (Unilorin), MSc. (FUNAAB) and a PhD from Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) with about 8+years of experience. English is Proficient and age is 30.

Do I need to submit all of these transcripts or only transcript of highest qualification is required please?

Again, I don't intend to include my PhD because it was obtained in 2024 and since my MSc was obtained in 2015 and I commenced work in 2016, it'll give me at least 8 years of experience till date. My question is; for Biotechnologist, can I include my PhD qualification during EOI and claim points for it without assessment?

For clarity, if I include my PhD which was obtained in year 2024, how many years of work experience will VITASSESS record for me? Please note that I commenced work as a Biotechnologist in 2016 after obtaining my MSc. in 2015.

Hi everyone.
Please is there a way to my Engineers Australia assessor? I was required to submit some extra documents, but due to bad network I couldn't do so before the deadline, any idea how I can proceed with this?
Can one appeal a negative outcome on this grounds?

Both Bachelor's and Master's degree will earn you the same point. Since it was assessed as a bachelor's degree, you may write Bachelor's degree there. Either way, you're still correct. It's the same point!

Your experience will start counting from your Msc date if your Msc was at least 18-24 months.
You will need to provide all the transcripts.
Adding your Phd will not reduce your years of experience because Biotechnologist is a level 1 occupation and only requires an AQF 7 which your masters should meet (AQF cool.
You can add the Phd to your EOI without assessing it.

Thanks for your response. I'm thinking of not including my PhD for VITASSESS assessment because I fear it might delay the assessment process. Now, if I don't include my PhD for assessment, my point on the assessment result from VITASSESS won't be up to 85 points.

Are you confirming that since the requirements for Biotechnologist only requires level 7 qualification, Visa Subclass 189 will allow me include my PhD during EOI application submission without assessing the said PhD with VITASSESS?

Again, during EOI application, is there a place where I'll be asked if I've completed skill set assessment? If so, what do I fill there please since my PhD wasn't assessed by VITASSESS please?

Another question is; how do I submit my transcript to VITASSESS? Do I need to tell my previously attended Universities to send directly to VITASSESS or I only need to a copy on the application portal?

Thanks you sir.

Hello House,

I'm a software engineer with over 5 years of professional experience, but my university degree is in an unrelated field. I do have a diploma in computer networking. I've heard that ACS can give a positive skills assessment based on substantial work experience even without a computer science degree, as the experience can substitute for formal education.

Has anyone here gone through ACS assessment with a similar background? I'd appreciate hearing about your experience and outcome

If you are an employee - your employer is expected to pay your taxes
if you are self employed - you are expected to pay your own taxes

You need at least 6 years experience to go through Recognition of Prior Learning (that's the substitute for no formal computer education)

JUST CALL THE ENGINEER USATRALIA PHONE NUMBER ON THE WEBPAGE.

or be ready to cough out the entire money all over again for re-assessment.
