Abroad with little change is shit o. Convert that ur land worth 7m to more than 20m within few months by engaging in farming on it. Try tomato or cassava farming and thank me later.

Try Biafra..

I hear say the country good..

With N7 million Naira, here are some migration or investment options you can explore:

Education Pathway
Canada: Apply for a postgraduate diploma or certificate program, which is more affordable than a degree. Many schools offer programs between CAD 10,000 and CAD 15,000 (about N6 million to N9 million). After completing your studies, you can apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
United Kingdom: Use N7 million to enroll in a one-year master's program or a short professional course. Look for universities with flexible payment plans.
: If you meet the requirements, you can apply to tuition-free universities and use the funds for living expenses. Proof of financial stability (around €11,000) is often required for a visa.

Work-Based Migration

Poland or Czech Republic: Skilled trades or logistics jobs in Europe often have lower entry requirements. You’ll need to budget for visa applications and initial costs.
Business Startups in Migration-Friendly Countries
Rwanda or Ghana: N7 million can establish a small-scale business in these countries, offering investor visa options and lower barriers to entry.
Caribbean Countries: Countries like St. Lucia or Dominica offer residency through investments, though this might require additional funds.
Alternative Investments
If immediate migration isn't viable:

Education Investment in Nigeria: Use the funds for a high-demand certification (e.g., tech, project management, or logistics).
Business Ventures: Start a scalable business locally and use the earnings to pursue migration later.

Portugal 100% confident about it

I have never been the enthusiastic type when it comes to Japa, but the realities on ground in the country leaves one with little or no choice to look elsewhere for greener pastures. I have about 7m worth of landed properties, and I want to do away with it and relocate before this country leaves me with nothing at all. I graduated with a 2:1 from a federal university.

Which country affords a better opportunity for someone looking for an MSc, putting all circumstances into perspective?

You can move to mauritius, cost effective and you can start business there. Nice place to stay, with time you can migrate to europe from there.

Dude, nobody wants or wanted to leave until reality about 9ja future set in.
Look for decent countries where you can get a full scholarship. Some scholarships na scam. It may just be 15% rebate.

With tuition fees and may be some maintenance costs out of the way, you can focus on your studies and side income.

Otherwise select a destination, look for a skill shortage area in that country and acquire it with some experience.

In the meantime, you may consider converting your 7m into dollars to hold value. You never know.

Look widely, including Scandinavia, and Brazil, if you like languages. Consider your medium and long term goals too.

No course is entirely useless. People do Health Sociology and become part of healthcare campaigns and outreach.

During Covid-19, many young black professors/experts interviewed on CNN and NBC about the disproportionate impact of it on black and ethnic minority groups in USA were sociologists and psychologists.

Most advanced countries have a vibrant social welfare system so i dont think sociology is as bad as we are painting it here. Social workers have a good rep and sociology is a good starting point but that N7m may need some improving upon.

Sociology is a useless degree undecided

The guy is in the first stage of grief. Denial. cheesy

It's is better to study fine arts or theatre art than that sociology
xandy84: 1:05pm On Jan 16
Nope. You're wrong. Sociology is not a prefered course anywhere in the world. Most universities offered it as a minor and not a major degree. A Sociology degree will leave you unemployed even in US and you will end up needing a masters to even become a teacher and when you count your student loan and interest, you will be in shock for the rest of your life. Nigerian universities should do away with course like Sociology, philosophy, languages as a major degrees cos it can't play bills. Higher education is an investment and when return on investment is lower, time to prioritize.

g17prinz:

Sociology may be a lesser 'choiced' course here in Nigeria, but that isn't really the case abroad.

N7 million is less than USD$5,000. And you have no one to host or house you for sometime.

I pray you don't end with organ harvesters.

Oga! Let me tell you the painful truth. If you cannot make it with 7m in Nigeria, a country where you're well grounded and know the ins and outs, then forget it, you're wasting your time to japa.
If you have a well sort after skill fine but if not, you're wasting you time and money

if you do your research very well, you will still find universities in Italy with tuition between €3000-€4000. To be realistic, 7m is not enough for the whole process.
koladata(m): 1:26pm On Jan 16
I'll advise that you sell the land first and have the money in cash. keep it somewhere that you can't touch. try uk masters , you can pay first quarter of the tuition and work with your body and soul to pay the rest of the tuition

The good thing about leaving is it gives you much more exposure, better insight of how things work and foreign s. Now, I see why folks do reverse japa abi japada as they call it after some years because one begins to spot HOW to profitably solve problems in Nigeria.

Sociology is a no course all over the world. Several universities in UK are dropping the course totally. This is the bitter truth. But you can decide to do something useful with it by looking at other directions.

Three years ago i moved out of Nigeria to the Gambia with way less than 7m .. after buying an air ticket to Banjul I was left with roughly 1.3m in 2022 ..
I did my survey got my residency permit after three months and started a car wash on a busy road . Daily I get about 3500 to 4000 dalasi as raw profit if the day too bad i go fi see like 2000, my car wash is not standard ooo but God showed me mercy . If your money aint enough to get you to Europe bro look for an African country with a stable growing economy..
Life outside Nigeria sweet ooooo

Sociology always takes a beating all the time. Every time. It all started with Pat Utomi a few years ago. cheesy

Are there no sociology graduates here to defend the 'motherland'? As it is now, even economics graduates are ing in the bashing.
