The company said the decision was taken to “provide much-needed relief for Nigerians ahead of the holiday season”.

“Africa’s first privately-owned oil refinery, which previously lowered the price to N970 per litre on November 24, has now announced a new price of N899.50 per litre. This reduction is designed to ease transport costs during the festive period,” read the statement signed by the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina.

He added that the company also introduced a special offer to further benefit consumers.

In addition to the holiday discount, Dangote Petroleum Refinery is allowing consumers to purchase an additional litre of fuel on credit for every litre bought on a cash basis.”

“To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Furthermore, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers will have the opportunity to buy another litre on credit, backed by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” said Chiejina.

The refinery also expressed its gratitude to Nigerians for their continued as the country enters the festive season.

Chiejina further emphasised the refinery’s commitment to ensuring Nigerians have access to quality petroleum products that are competitively priced, as well as environmentally and engine friendly. He highlighted that the refinery’s operations mark the end of Nigeria being a dumping ground for substandard and ‘blended’ imported products, which have posed significant risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.

The Dangote Refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (BPD), is the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is fully capable of meeting 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product requirements, with a surplus available for export.

Ambush pricing to discourage importation by marketers.....petrol price that shouldn't be more than 200 per litre.

If God says Nigeria will get better, it will effortlessly. For now, its simply business as usual with a different 'looting' model in the guise of subsidy removal.... what a pity!

Good one but this one will not get to common man , it for the petroleum marketers because they will not reflect the downward price immediately due to the excuse of we still have old stock and before they finish the old stock the festive season is over

And when will this over be over and we expect 920 or 950 as the filling station price

Petrol sells for ₦1500 - ₦1700 in Ghana, togo ,Benin and Cameroon

If dangote can produce Petrol profitably for ₦900 why does he insists on selling to Nigeria?

Lmaooo this doesn't make sense, they are not telling us the truth

I'm telling you.

You see that price can go below that. Far below but the greedy folks won't flinch.

To me this reduction is just a reaction to guilty conscience.

These folks are making x3 of their supposed profit margin. We see it among small traders in our community they sell what they bought at 200 for 500, 600 even more.

Dangote can still sell it at #500 per litre and he will still profit.

And Nigerians would just be praising them. If NEPA give them light 1 or 2 days. You'll start hearing this NEPA people try o. When it's a steady normal thing in other country or area.

I'm already seeing them saying this is commendable. Great news. Dangote did great

Excellent news.

Congratulations to Dangote.

Congratulations to Nigerians.

There is a discernible upswing about our country these days.

From world leaders storming Aso Rock to hail Jagaban, to our winning all sorts of international awards from Miss Universe to Mister International to Grammy awards.

The other day I read the price of beans has fallen dramatically.

Now Dangote has reduced fuel to 899 per litre.

ExxonMobil that has been DODGING Nigeria for the past decade or more, due to unfriendly business environment, announced a few weeks ago that they plan to invest an astonishing $10 billion in Nigeria over the next 4 years at the rate of $2.5 billion a year.

The future could be very bright…

Very good one for Nigerians, hopefully transportation prices should come down a bit . But it seems Dangote is trying to spoil the business for importers still importing fuel and not patronising him ,but all the same it is a positive sign for Nigerians

A business man will always be a business man. If he sells it at N500 per litre, more people will buy from him hence more gain/profits.

I suppose the news of Port Harcourt and Kaduna refinery coming alive is pushing Dangote really hard.
