NNPC Ltd Releases Estimated Pump Prices of PMS from Dangote Refinery, Based on September 2024 Pricing

The NNPC Ltd has released estimated prices of Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as Petrol (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) in its retail stations across the country.

The NNPC Ltd also wishes to state that, in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), PMS prices are not set by Government, but negotiated directly between parties on an arms length.

The NNPC Ltd can confirm that it is paying Dangote Refinery in USD for September 2024 PMS offtake, as Naira transactions will only commence on October 1st, 2024.

The NNPC Ltd assures that if the quoted pricing is disputed, it will be grateful for any discount from the Dangote Refinery, which will be ed on 100% to the general public.

Attached to this statement are the estimated pump prices of PMS (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) across NNPC Retail Stations in the country, based on September 2024 pricing.

Dangote charges of $0.03 per litre which at an exchange rate of N1600 to $1 translates to about N48 per litre based on the analysis above.

Well, I think the main issue is our exchange rate which is performing poorly at the moment. However, I hope the demand for Forex when it comes to importation of petroleum products has come to an end.

Moreover, government should ensure other refineries are available and producing as well.

It's really not funny. In fact, the current price of Unleaded Gasoline 10 ppm FOB (free on board) MED (Platts) Futures is 773.162 USD — it has risen 0.42% in the past 24 hours. That means the price could even increase further.

you now see the reality here. Unlike your clueless statistics you always post here that dangote refinery will ease the inflation decrease in Tinubu economy. Now with the current price of nnpcl, the inflation will bite harder than more than before.

See the exchange rate NNPCL are using for goodness sake... NGN 1637.59 to a USD

Imagine President Tinubu didn't float the Naira at the same time he removed fuel subsidy...and Naira is around NGN 450.... A litre of PMS would have been around NGN 250 and not over NGN 1000 that most places in Nigeria will have to buy now.

The refineries just have to work now!!!

That is not true...landing cost for lower quality pms is around 1100.Government was subsizing to bring it to around 700.Why cant govt subsidize jst 30% of wat itwas doing before to bring it to around 700.bear in mind we were subsidizing for neigboring countries too bt that will all become a thing ofpast...therefore cost of subsizing will be far lower.Its either that or giv dangote cheap crude to exchange for products.
