Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has said the Dangote Refinery should be fully ed and not vilified adding the success of Dangote is linked to the success of Nigeria and Africa at large.

He said this in a series of posts on his X handle on Tuesday, July 23 noting that the conflict between Dangote Industries and some government agencies are deeply troubling.

He wrote:
“The recent conflicts between Dangote Industries and some government agencies are deeply troubling. This issue transcends political affiliations and personal grievances. It is fundamentally about Nigeria’s economy, future, and the well-being of its citizens. Given Alhaji Dangote's significant contributions to Nigeria, it is crucial that these disputes are resolved swiftly. Government agencies should be directed to offer the necessary for the seamless launch and operation of the Dangote Refinery and its associated enterprises. The refinery has the potential to generate approximately $21 billion in annual revenue and create over 100,000 jobs, with numerous additional positive impacts on the economy.

“Its strategic importance in addressing Nigeria’s fuel crisis, boosting foreign exchange earnings, and fostering economic growth cannot be overstated. The refinery is too vital to fail and must not be hindered, considering its crucial role in our national welfare.

“The Federal Government and its agencies need to recognize the significance of Dangote’s contributions. Alhaji Dangote is not just a businessman; he is a national and African brand symbolizing patriotism, commitment, and impactful entrepreneurship.

“Despite operating in a challenging business environment, he has established a remarkable industrial hub in Nigeria, encoming over 15 sectors, including cement, sugar, salt, fertilizer, infrastructure, tomatoes, automotive, energy, petrochemicals, rice, poly sacks, real estate, mining, logistics, and maritime. Alhaji Dangote’s unwavering dedication to Nigeria's industrialization, job creation, and economic growth, despite adversities, warrants full and protection. With economic indicators like unemployment, inflation, forex scarcity, and debt worsening, every sensible and patriotic government should regard enterprises like Dangote Industries as national treasures, meriting robust and protection.

“In the interest of Nigeria and its citizens, as well as Africans at large, I urge the Federal Government and its agencies to provide Dangote Industries, especially the refinery, with all necessary .

“The success of Dangote is intrinsically linked to the success of Nigeria and Africa; conversely, its failure would be a significant setback for both Nigeria and the continent.”

Nigeria is really sold out.

If our politicians know that only Dangote refinary if built will reduce the price of petroleum. Why didn't they build many refinaries before now.

Why all the noise on Dangote refinary. Who are the people who are the Dangote group of companies.

They are the same people who own oil wells and vessels on the sea that they use to do their illigal oil businesses.

These people have sworn that Nigeria won't get better cos of what they gain from this dysfunctional Nigeria.

Obi must use this thread, shey e won talk say make dem no dangote before? Everyone knows this, we don’t need to be reminded.

Typical Nigerian should not pity dangote or any billionaire in dollars in Nigeria. They aren’t helping anyone, imagine adenuga who is from ogun state could build thousands of real estate and give it out, he’s capable of doing that, we are talking about billions of dollars, the project will cost merely 10m/20m dollars to build 100 of thousands regular homes. A Boxer around the world did it, built thousands of home for his whole community

Dangote is doing close to nothing for Nigeria, man is the richest black man, country where he lives shouldn’t be called poverty capital of the world. We got few other multi millions too above 500m dollars, they will rather lavish the money in monaco or Dubai

Dangote knows he’s about to go on social baba drop lamba recently that he doesn’t have house anywhere apart from Nigeria. 100% he has luxury apartment in London, Singapore, Dubai, NY, and other places, na only fool go believe that lamba. Na hotel bi the house e dey during lock down wey won girl post am abii? Richest black man in the world, someone that brought bill game to his child’S wedding, he’s big in the whole world.

NNPC has been the cabal militating against functional refineries in Nigeria all this years..

Obi's alone is enough to get those greedy cabal jittery.

A very good one from Peter Obi. All Nigerians of good conscience need to arise and Dangote to succeed, then the necessary agencies of government must work to ensure that there is fair competition.

Zombies are mad grin grin
Just a few months back they were praying for Dangote refinery to come online as a solution to their bulaba's economic incompetence.
Fast forward to today, they are against same refinery.
What is underlining their position at all times is a need to defend govt incompetence and corruption.
I'm sure if Dangote was Igbo, they would have labelled him ipob by now

For every thing that is not working in this country some group of people are benefiting from it. That is why it would continue to be the way it is

That is why our power generation would continue to be poor, security would be bad, refinery would not work, poor road construction would continue, just name it

Tackle these cabals and lock them up and see how Nigerian would improve

May Nigeria not happen to anyone of us

Same Pandora de Obi's boys who have been attacking Dangote for many years.

No one hated Dangote's refinery as much as IP0B/0BNIDIENTS.

Bitter Obi is only trying to make it look like he is fighting for Dangote so that northerners will think he loves them
and it will never work because northerners can still how Obi deported their brothers from Anambra while he was governor.

All this politicians have no stake in this country. He, Dangote has more than $60b stake in Nigeria. Sabotaging this company is economic terrorism and should be sued.

Peter Obi is an accomplished Entrepreneur, he understands the peculiarities of running a multi million dollar business in an unstable environment like Nigeria.
We won't be in this mess today if he was president.
We told them, they said they are sophisticated and politically wise.
See where we find ourselves today with their master strategist
