Hahaha. This is actually the only one of Messi's awards wins I have an issue with. The rest, you could make arguments for. BTW, Ronaldo's Ballon d'or win in 2013 is more controversial than any of Messi's. Zero major trophies and for the first and only time in the history of the award, the voting period was extended, conveniently days after he helped Portugal qualify for the World Cup. Modric, Vervelde, Ancelotti and Halaand voted for messi. It’s not rigged, Messi deserves it. Man city win was a collective one, Halaand didn’t dominate in of impact in the team like Messi for his team. Halaand has been given what he deserve which is golden boot/highest goal scorer award.

To be the best centered around how impactful you are for your team and not just occasionally showing up. Lol did I say it is rigged? I said that RM boys voted Messi and thats why he won over Haaland. But personally, I don't think Messi deserves it as within the validity period, Haaland and Mbappe did better in my opinion. Obviously, many of those that voted used the World cup win factor which should not have been so as Messi already won 2022 Fifa best correctly on that basis.

Halaand rely on his team mate to shine while the team rely on Messi to shine that’s the difference.
