Immediately I came across this news yesterday, I knew something was wrong somewhere. The initial report said that they were trying to snatch money from the Keke man in the middle of a busy place, a market. It didn't make sense at all. And pointed it out in my comment, screenshot attached below.

They were simply tax collectors, and were killed in a barbaric manner while on duty.

we are getting there small small afterall if we pay tax it would only be used to buy yatchs, vehicles and allow are leaders live in luxury while the masses suffer. The Nigerian government are responsible for this mindset you cant diminish the purchading power of your people with your bad policies then still tax them to live frivolous life style.

This would have been the fate of my friend In 2009.

We had a friend who was a medical student back then in UNIBEN, who lost the mom and invited us to a remote village in Abakaliki. The village had mostly mud houses with just one brick one. The wickedness shown to us during the burial ceremony, is a story for another day.

After the burial, we tried to get back to school. The journey was smooth until we transited in Onitsha and needed to board another bus to Benin.
We ended up in Onitsha market, boarded a bus that had few engers in and waited a long time. When no more engers were getting on, my friend and I decided to pay for the empty seats. The bus conductor took our money but kept looking for more engers and it was getting late.

My friend got upset and tried to get our money back, he snatched the money the conductor was holding that was when all hell broke loose. This made the conductor call him a thief, and a mob started attacking him. They wanted to burn him with a tire and petrol.

I managed to escape the crowd and found a park worker who spoke Benin. I begged him for help with the few Benin language I could . The Benin guy spoke igbo despite being Edo and I think he had worked there for a long time and he was respected. He rescued my friend, and we learned that the conductor had a bad reputation for doing this to people. And got many innocent people burnt alive just because of a few Naira notes.

Since then, the thoughts of visiting South East scares the hell out of me.never gonna visit the God forsaken region again in my life .

First of all there is hunger in the land and where you try to sow where you do not reap you suffer the consequences. This picture and news is already on front page as news of robbers in market, and this is main market Onitsha. Why then are you ing the same pics with a different caption, so people can think that another incidence happened, just like what you are planning to achieve on your post.
