Xauusd moves in a trendy pattern

Your question made me test out one or two ideas I had in my mind

Since Xauusd moves in a trend mostly, finding major highs and lows for swing trading should be based on trend exhaustion.

You might have read from forex blogs or from candlestick books that Trend exhausts after 8-12 bars

Here's how to apply the information....

Range of pinbar is (high-low of bar)

Find a pinbar on Xauusd on 4H chart at a key or resistance zone...get the range of that pinbar, multiply it by 8, 10, 12 and check market signals at such areas, you will likely find your reversal there.

Check it for yourself on any period of Xauusd 4H chart even the 2020 COVID period.

Scalpers will find success adopting such a a strategy by waiting for 5+ hrs at the key areas before pulling the trigger.

But swing traders may need to wait for longer and placing limit orders there does not mean that you will always be successful...what it does is it gives you an idea of where the market will reverse.

When you see the necessary change in structure, you can take the trade therein.

Sha, test it out on Xauusd and tell us what you noticed so that if there is need to adjust the criteria, I fit reason am more.

It's more like a warning area...you can be at that zone and still lose if your stop loss is too tight or you get in too early.

But with what I've seen from checking it on 2020 chart and 2023 chart, you will be able to avoid say 70% of the wrong limit order entries on Xauusd if you align it with whatever system you trade.
