Nigerian Journalist and the founder of West Africa Weekly, David Hundeyin, has released the USA Naturalization Records of the deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat.

In the document released by Hundeyin, it was alleged that the deputy Governor of Lagos, Hamzat, became a naturalized citizen of USA on 22nd November 2002 in New York City, while renouncing all allegiance to Nigeria.

Upon releasing the document, Hundeyin said, “It has now been proven beyond any reasonable doubt in court that Obafemi Hamzat violated Nigeria's electoral law by running for Deputy Governor of Lagos after swearing an oath allegiance to the USA while naturalising, and renouncing all allegiance to Nigeria.

“Over to the court.”

Recall that a U.S. Immigration lawyer, Olubusayo Fasidi, on Thursday, said that Lagos Deputy Gov. Obafemi Hamzat took an oath of allegiance in the U.S. to renounce Nigerian citizenship.

Fasidi, a Nigerian, testified before the Lagos State Election Petition Tribunal.

The lawyer testified for Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who is challenging the outcome of the March 18 Gubernatorial Election in Lagos State which the INEC declared Sanwo-Olu the winner.

She told the tribunal that Hamzat, the third respondent in the petition, also applied for naturalisation in the US.

Let even assume LP win in court (which I don’t see it happening at all , if tribunal say A , appeal court and even Supreme Court is dere to turn it over to B) with Tinubu in the center will surely not Favour Lagos as a state and most importantly with the state assembly of APC and a young man that as no experience in politics as governor will surely a be a big no for the interest of lagos

Don’t think the assembly will decamp to LP with Tinubu as President, they will impeached gbadebo in less than a minute and frustrate his life

In the INEC form that the deputy governor filled out and submitted, he stated there that he has acquired citizenship of the United States of America. So, it is not hidden. He must have gone through the Constitution of the Federal Republic with the best lawyers in Yoruba land before filling out the form and declaring his true citizenship of the USA.

No court in Nigeria can remove the governor of Lagos State while EMilokan Tinubu is the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed and Unarmed Forces.

I think at this material time, the APC need to call The LP to a round table discussion, a give and take agreement should be put forward. The of the agreement will be either the APC and Tinubu agree to relinquish Lagos State to the LP and retain the presidency or the relinquish the presidency to they LP and retain Lagos State.

Failure to put these forward will certainly lead to the APC and Tinubu losing both the presidency and the Lagos State puting into consideration the avalanche of indicting documents against the APC both at presidential and lagos State gubernatorial election tribunal.
