I went to a Wema bank branch yesterday to withdraw from my Domicillary , but i was told they have stopped giving dollars. I wanted to make transfer and they said that was also impossible.

Who else is facing this challenge?

Note i still was able to withdraw last week. Could this be from CBN?
They still give dollars oo

Restricting dollars , while it makes things harder for people, and is not a solution to our problem...is the reason why one dollar is not equal to N2500 naira today.

You're a real kobonaire. Scarcity creates pressure. Even a market woman knows this.

That's the reason dollar value is surging in Nigeria.

Bro, if you don't have solutions to his problems just move on and stop condemning him. I have been unable to my transfer on my USD card for 3wks now I'm even planning on visiting UBA to know why.

I dont get what you mean by "transfer on USD card". why not initiate a SWIFT payment?

Bro my opinion will be different here am not gonna the band wagons. Tell the Bank you want to exchange at the official rate you’ll have your money . But the issue is most people want to sell to Black market and still blame the Bank for scarcity. This is Nigeria and we spend NAIRA qed....... so if dollar is scare it’s no issue. Bro look into the mirror.

Bank Dom holders are really facing challenges. Now why won't individuals and businesses store physical Dollar bills at home and only take some to transact.

This nonsense should not affect withdrawal of foreign remittances o.

Both the person that collected the 12k, and the person that paid and our bad politicians are thesame.
It only shows that in times of despair we would cut corners.
The guy is even bold enough to say he paid bride.
Nonsense and ingredients
This country has a way of forcing us to be bad.
Unfortunately, what do u do in times of hopelessness......people always get caught in this Nigeria mess and they have no option.....i dont understand the situation of the person that paid 12k to withdraw $250 but i guess there must be some desperation in his situation because no one wants to give money out that way..its a different case if he is bribing to cover up an offence....People usually bribe these bank officers to get tuition of their kids sent abroad, if they dont, there is the risk of their kids getting blocked from school system, and if lingers this will affect their visas and all that....
Well in any case u are right, he is as guilty as the bribe receiver...BUT i understand what it feels to have no option than to do the bad thing so that you dont lose everything

It is idiocy for me to exchange my money at the Govt rate when I know that the value that the Govt has pegged it is absurd, worse even if I cannot buy at the supposed rate they are pegged it at, why do I then sell to them at that rate?

I have a dorm , but they say no dollar card for now. Wish i can get bitcoin to make the payment, been having verification issue with these exchanges.

It's simple nooow. It depends on the Exchange anyway. I have done like 3 different successful verifications on 3 diff platforms. Just duly follow the process as required.

Yes, but what happens when I want to pay for a service in USD.
For example, import a Car? Since my requirements for it is not of paramount importance to the Govt, I am left to source the USD on my own.
I can't buy the car in Naira, can I?

I deposited pounds sterling into my domiciliary last year. I wanted to travel and decided to withdraw part of my pounds, to my shock, at GTB they told me that there was no pounds.

So, what's the point of having dom when I could not withdraw my own money from the bank where I keep it?

Now, you'll probably have to use SWIFT or maybe get a GBP card, then use TransferWise to collect your own money.
My fears about saving in a local bank don't seem far-fetched at this point. God 'safe' us.

the issue is from your bank. I sent about 250 usd to dedipath and digital ocean to clear pending server payment and the transaction was smooth without any issue.
If I get hardmirror correct, the issue is in withdrawing DOLLARS in CASH from your Dom .

I believe one should be able to make electronic transactions.

Actually, with the way Nigerian economy is managed, it won't be long when you can't withdraw your dollar as cash but only in Naira
