Ontarioo: Just as you rightly predicted it was breeze. One way or the other, I find myself not regretting giving the officer that money. I was scheduled for today and the officer called me last nite to remind me and told me to come very early. I did as he said and arrived the office at 7:55 am, by the time I got inside, he had already submitted my file and told the security guys to let me in....I sat and at exactly 10:40 am I was done capturing. Most people who came through the DIY ROUTE were still at the first waiting area. Anyways, just as someone once said here, if you want to go the DIY ROUTE, You must be a man of integrity and willing to express it and have patience. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Becoted001:*New/Fresh International port* *Stage 1*: on their website: https://port.immigration.gov.ng/application and pay either 25k for 5 years (32 pages), 35k for 5 years 64 pages or 70k for 10 years 64 pages +1k for service charge. So your total payment can be 26k, 36k or 71k. *Stage 2*: still on the website, print guarantors form, acknowledgement form and payment Receipt. Once you are done with payment, proceed to book an appointment and print out the form. *Stage 3*: Take the guarantor form to anyone that feels comfortable serving as your guarantor could be your friend, sibling, boss, colleague etc and let them fill. Your guarantor will attach a port photograph and photocopy of valid international port data page. (i think with NIN but i am not sure) *Stage 4*: Take the guarantor's form to any magistrate or high court for stamp (its not free. I think from 1k and above...it depends) *Documents to bring to the immigration office* 1. Standard port application form 2. Acknowledgement form 3. Payment Receipt 4. Filled and stamp guarantors form with valid international port data page (just come along with a photocopy of their NIN slip) 5. 2 coloured port photograph (your own) 6. Photocopy of NIN slip 7. Photocopy of Birth certificate 8. Photocopy of State of Origin *You can also go with original of 6,7 and 8* Duration: from 6 weeks and above Copied: When you enter Ikoyi port office, by the right hand you will see a "Servicecom" sign, speak with any of the staff sitting inside the cubicle. He/she will collect all your document vet it and return it with another documents and ask you to photocopy it and fill (make sure you photocopy it before filling) After filling the documents, retire it to the "ServiceCom" person . He or she will open a file for you and write places you have to go for g and stamping. After stamping in one place, ask the person "where is next" politely and follow through the process. When you're done with capturing, before stepping out of the capturing hall, a man will collect your file and it. After that, take your file back to the "ServiceCom" personnel and your DONE. Copied. See, once you start the application online, you will see all the documents you are expected to bring. So its possible that some documents might not be necessary and as well that i might have omitted some. E.g: for re-issue: a letter of application is required.
