It’s officially over for Nyesom Wike as far as the 2023 elections are concerned. First, he ran for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was won by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. Next, he aimed for the Vice-Presidential slot, having the of those that matter in the party. Daily Trust had reported how some National Working Committee (NWC) of the party endorsed Wike for the position. But in the end the man who beat him to the Presidential ticket settled for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

Okowa, Wike and Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom were the three governors that were considered for the running mate slot of the PDP. In the buildup to the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for submission of candidates’ names, the pendulum kept swinging between Okowa and Wike until Atiku made his choice known on the eve of INEC’s deadline.

Wike also eyed the number two position of PDP in the 2019 election before the tide turned against the man he wanted to team up with for the presidential ticket. It was Atiku, who also won the ticket that year, forcing Wike to returning to the drawing board, but unlike the last time when he recontested Rivers governorship, he is no longer eligible to be governor, having served two , which will end next year.

Some two-term governors like him who lost the positions they were eyeing settled for the senate ticket, but what’s Wike’s next move. Has political retirement come too early for the 58-year-old lawyer turned politician?

Wike started his career as a Local Government Chairman. He served as Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area from 1999 to 2007. At the time, Rotimi Amaechi, his estranged benefactor was Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. When Amaechi became governor in 2007, Wike was appointed Chief of Staff. After Amaechi got releected, Wike got appointed Minister of State for Education. He was later appointed the Acting Minister of Education. However, he resigned to contest the PDP guber ticket in 2014. He chose former Secretary to the State Government, Ipalibo Banigo as his running mate. The Deputy Governor, who is now heading for the senate, having won the PDP ticket in Rivers West. Unlike Banigo, Wike’s next political move is uncertain.

Worse case scenario, he will do everything possible to install his puppet as governor and he will become the godfather/kingmaker in Rivers State politics.

Repent and give his life to Christ
He learned through the hard way, that politics of bully doesn't work outside River State.

In all these, south East is the greatest loser, after Obi foolishly left PDP to an unpopular party

He should teach PDP a serious lesson by working against the party. Tambuwal his closest ally betrayed him and Okowa his next door brother betrayed the entire south. Wike’s only redemption in all of these betrayals is to ensure that those that betrayed him did not get anything out of it.

Okowa as Vice President will finish whatever is left of Wike’s political career. For Wike’s survival, he must ensure that Okowa never becomes the VP.

Tinubu never fought Buhari. In fact, Tinubu ed Buhari with everything he has to ensure he gets the presidency. Buhari is indebted to Tinubu and not the other way round and that’s why he refused to bow to the pressure of some few nuisance to stand in Tinubu’s way.

I told some of you that Tinubu will win APC’s presidential ticket. I’m telling you again now that Buhari will campaign for Tinubu once campaign starts and APC will win the presidential election before 12noon on Election Day. You can bookmark this comment.

Please our honourable Peter obi for the president's of federal Republic of Nigeria, we are tired of those thief's now,

Without a tribalism and nepotism any sane Nigerian's know it's someone like Peter obi that can now rescue Nigeria from totalling sinking, but seriously some ethnics bigot's people's will still prefer to have their own man at the affairs of the country either he is capable or not than to go for what could have been the best solution to all nigerian's current problems, #Peter obi 2023 confirm

angry Nothing else but a sober reflection, self examination and retrospection. He needs to relearn how to communicate and the basic requirements for a leader. Since he is already above Forty years of age I doubt if he can see any wrong in his behaviour and character as the saying goes "a fool at Forty is a fool forever". Unfortunately in Nigeria we have so many fools above Forty in the corridors of power.

Nothing nah. He said it before, he said he people always gang up against him.

During PDP primaries, majority of Igbo delegates voted for Atiku Abubakar. During selection of VP, the same bitter people also ganged up against him. Now, they will expect him to in funding the election, let Atiku go to Dubai where he has his permanent home and bring the money he is keeping their. Wike will not spend his shishi again.

Wike is a loyal party man who hates apc.He will never work against Pdp, he has a PDP Governor to in 2023 and have nothing to gain working against Pdp unlike Ameachi that has been used and dumped by Apc.The Presidential election comes first before the Governorship election.
