@OP I think DSS is better, you get to enjoy certain benefits and privileges unlike Immigration.
When you secret service, respect go dey, plus plenty resources at your disposal.

DSS isn't bad but have it at the back of your mind that once you are in you are in for life even after retirement or if you leave.

Also have it at the back of your mind that you would encounter some egotistic people from operations leads, to some department directors that would render your efforts useless.

If you are high level entry technical personnel get ready to win the trust of operational guys in SOP and CI

Also have it in the back of your mind that top foreign intelligence agencies always some how knows majority of personnels.

Lastly get ready to follow false leads because majority of sophisticated criminals be it cooperate or individuals employ guys as good as those you serve.

As if you Merit any of them .

DSS is way more prestigious , this DG improved the pay and general welfare, good training, security back up for you and your family(which is essential in this country now).

One thing is recommending you for a job, your safety, postings etc depends on your attitude while on the job.

Are you the social bird type?
Are you the type that values living very close to your immediate family at all times? If yes, go for immigration.

But if you are out for field adventures, and the conservative type, I think DSS suits you.

Go for one that you can easily align with vis-à-vis your personality and expectations as working class man.

Although, the DSS has been so much ridiculed under the Buhari led istration, I have come to understand that power is transient. As nothing good lasts forever, so does nothing bad. This istration is being used to test our resolve and resilience as a people of different nations.
