ALL HOTELS @ OBA BOOKED!!!
Zico Monte Carlo Hotel and Suites Ozubulu.

To get a hotel at Oba was so different even with your money. Most hotels are booked a month ago. All Hotel in Oba are fully booked. Majority of guests and friends of Obi Cubana and the Iyiegbu's family have to drive a distance to be part of the funeral ceremony. While I successfully got a good hotel accommodation at Ozubulu, Anambra State before going for the wake keep at Obi's mansion , majority of Obi's friends operate from Asaba, Awka, Onitsha, Newi, and nearby communities in search of accommodation.

Let's pray the weather turns out good today!

Why are you worried if it is cited, your useless worthless backward shithole Imo state is in ruins while your Imo brothers and sisters are running to Anambra for greener pasture, but you are always camped here envying and crying. Tufia

So Stella Oduah and Uche Ekwunife were absent in the senate’s plenary session to give life to a new and digital kind of electioneering. These are two Anambra Senators. Some Anambrarians are already seeking for their recall. Good move

Now that the State CID road is halfway opened, I still maintain that the entire road and lanes be entirely opened for commuters to drive round the town easily. I see no point in opening one lane instead of the two lanes because it builds a heavy gridlock. You need to see the hold up from Amawbia by up to Adam and Eve axis and then down to State CID. It’s not usually funny especially when one has to drive through to work.

Lastly, commuters are currently groaning on the high transport fare even after the road has been unblocked. The bus drivers in turn explain it isn’t their fault but that of the touts charging them for loading engers. Even after the road has been opened, Why still maintain same charges like as if the roads are still blocked. ie. the touts still charge same fare during and after d shutdown of the road? It is unfair on the part of the commuters.

Lastly, the internal streets and lanes of some Awka settlements need serious drainage construction. Very few gutters in the streets thereby leading to an overflow during the rains. Not just overflows they also leave deep dirty ponds on the streets which in turn serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Hopefully, they will get someone to plant grass and landscape the whole area properly. It will be a good project to offer some village farmers to uproot grass from somewhere around their farms and transplant the grass in these open spaces around the runway. The current rainy season will ensure the grasses take root and survive. Finishing is very important in projects like this to bring them to the proper international standard seen abroad.

You can only notice tire marks on the shoulder of the runway. However, it's quite gratifying that they don't drive cars on the main runway. So as not to clog it up with sand deposits from muddy car tires driving on it.

My only problem with the Anambra Airport Terminal building is that it looks like one of those Abakaliki International Market or a Warehouse.
I would advise a new terminal built with Flat Zigzag flowing roof like the new Bugesa Airport in Rwanda.

What they need to do is buy bags of carpet grass seed and sprinkle around. It will give even and lush green areas, compared to using local farmers to uproot anything they call grass and plant. My concern is finishing, like you rightly said. But let's be hopeful that it will be up to standard.

THE PICTURE YOU POSTED IS NOT COMPLETE.

ANAMBRA RUNWAY DOES NOT HAVE NIGHT LANDING REFLECTORS AND LIGHT.

WHEN WILL THEY BE INSTALLED?

AS FOR GRASS, THEY CAN BUY QUALITY ASTROTURF AND LAY FOR BEAUTIFICATION.

IT WILL SAVE THEM TIME AND MONEY CUTTING GRASS SEASONALLY.

Utilise private sector equity participation and invite RICH Anambra sons like Innoson, Coscharis, Air Peace, United Nigeria Airline, Dr Maduka, Obi Cubana, E-Money and a host of others and they will put up one of the best Airport terminals in Africa without Government's money.
Our Igbo governors need forget pride and network with these Igbo rich men to deliver any infrastructure on commercial basis.

There's no problem with the Anambra international airport terminal building. Aside Lagos and Abuja, there's no single terminal building in Nigeria that's close to Anambra international airport building in beauty and sophistication. Anambra international airport terminal building is a modern structure and it is equally big multi level facility.

Exactly. They are making effort to prevent mud or sand deposits on the runway. Which is fantastic. It shows there are safety conscious to ensure the friction on the runway is topnotch.

Ignorance is truly bliss. grin grin grin

If you are an aviation enthusiast and you have been following the structural designs of new airports globally, you would know that Anambra airport exactly conformed and followed that new trend globally. In fact, you will easily know that the airport was designed by foreign experts who had built modern airports recently and not Nigerian architects who are addicted to SQUARES. As if a building could not be built unless it was a square with a triangular roof.

I don't think NCAA will allow rugs that can be blown off by jet blast to be near a runway.
Laying artificial rugs can never be allowed next to a runway in the name of making the area have a semblance of green grass near the runway. I'm sure ICAO will also not approve an airport with such dangerous rugs laid beside a runway or any debris whatsoever near a runway. Actually, the main purpose of the grass around the runway is to prevent erosion and not really for aesthetics. That is why the airports in the middle east where there is little rain don't even bother about grassing around their runway because they know erosion isn't a problem in the middle east due to poor rainfall. I think the idea of using grass seeds can work if the seeds are not washed off by heavy rainfall.

This is how powerful a jet blast is. No rug will stay on the ground for 5 minutes when subjected to this awesome blast force from jet engines. That is why it will be a safety hazard to use turfs instead of natural grass around a runway.

I was in Anambra and I asked about that portion of the road. I was told that it is under a different contract. If RCC should work on it, that might attract a court case or something like that.

Imagine the quality of people making contributions on this thread. So because of the social media hype of the cubanas and emoney, you are now asking Anambra Govt to meet them to source funds for airport project? Very laughable.

The usual Anambra and Obiano haters have been desperately looking for a way to criticize the new airport, just the way they did with the Awka Flyovers. OreMI22 has already enlightened the usual unexposed villagers so no need to add more.

The most important thing is that those trying to criticize the 3 floors terminal building are not comparing it to the average airports in Nigeria. Good development.
