I submitted my DIY documents at the Abeokuta office on Wednesday and I was asked to come for capturing by August 18th (6 weeks after).

Pls like how many minutes did it take for the whole process?
I'm thinking of going by train on wednesday which will put my ETA around 11am, I'm also considering the length of queue and possibility of rounding up b4 3pm.
Or maybe I shud just abort mission and go to the park jeje.
What do you think?

The whole process itself took me about an hour. But I got there 8am and I didn't leave until 1pm.
The officer-in-charge didn't arrive until 11am. Then he asked that my guarantor must be physically present - thank God the guy was able to make it.
After these hiccups, it was pretty straightforward. I was given 3 forms to make duplicates of, fill them and buy a file for them. Then he went through all the documents I brought, added them to the file, ask for the port photographs, attached them to the file, and write stuff on the file. That was it.

And he said I should come for capturing by August 18th, which I feel it's too far BTW.

lack of servicom office in abeokuta is the reason for the delay I think. But 3months for whats meant to take just 6weeks to complete is unrealistic sha.

maybe activation helps prevent your port from visa denials...lol...the thing shock me sef

The activation is likely for the enhanced e-port i.e. the one that requires NIN to process.

Has anyone who did capturing for reissue (renewal) at the ikoyi immigration office as at June 10th gotten their ports yet?.....with the new law reissue is suppose to be 3weeks and fresh is suppose to be 6 weeks but as it is I haven't gotten any news from them yet...used an agent tho....

Its 6weeks or longer sef..
Those that did capturing on the 8th of June in owerri hasn't gotten thier port sef.

I went for the correction of DOB on my NIN since last month, going to 20 days now and is yet to be corrected. Is there a way around using NIN for the registration?
Any state I can opt in for the registration without requesting for NIN?

NiN is not compulsory in owerri command .. But u will see hell there due to much crowd. I did mine there ..but I use my eye see my ear before I did my capturing

I did my caputuring approximately I week and 4days after payment was made..
But the reason why it was 1week and 4 days was that. I have to cough extra money to sort some immigration officers before my file was expressly taken to the capturing room .. If not It would have taken longer. I won't advice anyone to go to owerri command .. But u can still try ur luck.. Luck differs

Truth .. I saw devil walk on 2legs in that owerri command all in the name of I want international port. Upon say I paid roughly 40k .. port that is not even express oo

For those who have received their port in the new port regime, how did you know that your port was available for collection? Did your status online change from "vetted" or did you receive notification from the concerned immigration branch. Make una help my life biko.

. The story is there no booklet from Abuja. Though I'm still expecting it this week.

Just received a call to come collect my port, it's not even Up to 5weeks. I can now embark on this long walk to getting ission and Visa.

Documentation, capturing and interview was on the 8th June, at the port office Katsina. Cost me 24k

I think you should go to the office and explain to an officer there (preferably a higher officer) and explain to them how severe your case is....that you have to submit to the embassy in a very short time
