I think tractor operator will finish his work tomorrow. This is what already ploughed area look like. The next operation is to fell big tree, slashing obstacles, and the one i can not fell with my Motor Saw, I will set it on fire, the leafs will drop and the whole stand will dry.

The best practice is to plough and ridge but to minimize money I will spend, I do just plough though I make sure the operator did it very well!

If you are dealing with tractor operator you will need to have personal GPS because Farmer shortage start from incomplete farm land, and if they sense you are newbie they will want to Short change you! Let me say, you want to plough like 10 hectares, since there is no gps they will just plough 8-8.5 hectares, and he will be telling you it 11 hectares that you should settle him because he has help you with additional 1 hectare.

I will wait for like 18 days (counting from the day operator work) for young weeds to emerge, plant maize then spray glyphosate and 2-4d thesame day I plant maize. Video of some operation will be available on my IG by weekend.

1.yes it is possible even more than 10 acres, their some people that specialize on maize planting. 2. 3 acres is equivalent to 18plot or 1.2 hectare Funny you , if it is on ridges only me can plant it in a day, get those are into it. 3. If the land is not rough it should be 6k per hectare, but if it is rough it range between 7k-7.5 per hectare.

Next operation I did is felling of trees and packing. I fell tree inside this farm no be small..

Planting start today, I took four boys to farm to plant. It 22 days today since I ploughed. I deliberately allow unwanted (weed) plant to germinate so I can spray systematic herbicide (glyphosate and 2-4d), as the weed is dying, the maize will be growing for like 3 weeks. Then I will spray selective post systematic (striker and 2-4d again.) The video will be available shortly on IG or YouTube.

I will try maybe I can detail how to go about line! Issue now is rain, may God help us all. never see maize farm that is 95% okay this year.

once the maize is exactly three weeks old, I will plant cassava then spray striker +2-4d the following day.

10 acres is equivalent to 4 hectares, per hectare now is 20k at the moment provided the place is ploughable. Ask around there is enough tractor in ogun State.

Please do you mix the glyphospate and the 2-4d together and spray? If so, what is the ration of the mixing?

I ain't @farmerakinloye6 but if I might answer mixing with glycophate makes it unsellective that is everything goes. So spray before germination

yes, I mixed it together. It was sprayed the following day maize was planted. 250ml glyphosate + 50ml 2-4d @spread nozzle, 14 -15 load of 16litres will cover one hectares (15plot)@ 2 bar space. Once the maize is 17-21 days old striker 110ml + 2-4d 60ml. NOTE you should not allow unwanted plant to reach one month old before you spray striker, if you do, it will not crush it but just make it stand still (stagnant) for like two weeks, then the weed resurrect again. Best time to enjoying striker work is when the weed is between 2-3 weeks old.

Did you stake lines or how did the planters get a straight row.?

getting it right (straight and spacing) is simple if you see those that into it. I really which to detail it but work load do not permit me. Fertilizer application will start tomorrow, intercropping cassava will start by weekend, then second spray follow immediately. 100cm by 70cm because am intercropping it with cassava,17kg per hectare.
